Research Benefits
- Amylin Receptor Research — Cagrilintide is a long-acting amylin analog, providing a sustained-action tool for studying amylin receptor signaling and satiety pathways.
- Combination Metabolic Studies — As the amylin component of the CagriSema combination (with semaglutide), cagrilintide enables research into synergistic incretin-amylin metabolic effects.
- Satiety & Gastric Emptying — Amylin receptor activation slows gastric emptying and promotes central satiety signaling in the area postrema and nucleus tractus solitarius.
- Extended Half-Life Design — Cagrilintide's acylation with a C18 fatty diacid enables weekly dosing in research protocols, reducing administration frequency in chronic studies.
Mechanism of Action
Cagrilintide is an acylated, long-acting analog of human amylin (islet amyloid polypeptide/IAPP) that activates amylin receptors (AMY1, AMY2, AMY3).
Amylin Receptor Activation: Amylin receptors are heterodimers of the calcitonin receptor (CTR) with receptor activity-modifying proteins (RAMP1/2/3). Cagrilintide activates these receptors in the area postrema and hypothalamus.
Central Satiety: AMY receptor activation in the area postrema and nucleus tractus solitarius suppresses appetite through ascending projections to the lateral parabrachial nucleus and hypothalamus.
Gastric Motility: Amylin signaling delays gastric emptying through vagal efferent pathways, extending nutrient absorption time and promoting meal-related satiety signals.
Acylation Technology: The C18 fatty diacid side-chain enables non-covalent albumin binding, extending plasma half-life from minutes (native amylin) to days, permitting once-weekly administration.
Research Protocol

Research Dosing (from published studies)
- In vivo (murine): 10-100 nmol/kg SC once weekly.
- Combination (CagriSema model): Co-administered with semaglutide at equimolar ratios weekly.
- Published clinical reference: 1.0-4.5 mg SC weekly with 4-week dose escalation periods.
Storage
Lyophilized at -20°C. Reconstituted at 2-8°C, use within 28 days.
Safety & Handling
Research Use Only.
Storage Conditions
- Lyophilized: -20°C
- Reconstituted: 2-8°C, 28 days
Known Considerations from Literature
- GI effects (nausea, vomiting) are the most common adverse events, particularly during dose escalation.
- Native amylin can form amyloid fibrils; cagrilintide's modifications reduce but may not eliminate aggregation potential at high concentrations.
- Hypoglycemia risk increases when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas in diabetic models.
Handling
Standard PPE. Avoid vigorous agitation during reconstitution.
Frequently Asked Questions
- What is Cagrilintide?
- Cagrilintide is a long-acting acylated analog of human amylin that activates amylin receptors to promote satiety and slow gastric emptying.
- What is CagriSema?
- CagriSema is a fixed-ratio combination of cagrilintide (amylin analog) and semaglutide (GLP-1 agonist) being studied for synergistic metabolic effects. The two peptides act on complementary satiety pathways.
- Why is once-weekly dosing possible?
- Cagrilintide is acylated with a C18 fatty diacid that binds albumin non-covalently, extending its plasma half-life from minutes to ~7 days.
- What purity is this product?
- BeaCapra Cagrilintide is ≥99% pure by HPLC with COA provided.
Customer Reviews
Exceptional purity and fast shipping
Third-party COA verified at 99.1% purity. Arrived in 2 days with proper cold packaging. The documentation included was thorough and professional. Will be ordering again for our lab.
Best supplier I've found
After trying several suppliers, BeaCapra consistently delivers the highest quality compounds. The subscribe & save option is a great value, and their customer support team answered all my questions promptly.
Great product, COA checks out
Ran our own HPLC analysis and confirmed the purity claims. Packaging was secure and discreet. Only minor note — would love to see more size options for some of the newer compounds. Otherwise excellent.
Subscribe & save is the way to go
The 15% discount on subscription makes this the most competitive pricing I've found for research-grade compounds at this purity level. Auto-delivery every 30 days has been seamless. Highly recommend.
Exactly what our research team needed
We've been sourcing from BeaCapra for our university lab and the consistency batch-to-batch is impressive. Every order comes with a COA and the compounds are properly lyophilized. Professional operation all around.
