GHRP-6: Potent Growth Hormone Releasing Hexapeptide

GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Peptide-6) is a synthetic hexapeptide (His-D-Trp-Ala-Trp-D-Phe-Lys-NH2) that stimulates growth hormone secretion through ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) activation. With a molecular weight of 873.01 g/mol, GHRP-6 was among the first synthetic GH secretagogues developed and remains one of the most potent in its class. Each vial contains 5mg of lyophilized peptide at ≥99% purity.

GHRP-6 produces robust, dose-dependent growth hormone release through mechanisms distinct from GHRH. In addition to direct pituitary stimulation, GHRP-6 amplifies GH release by suppressing somatostatin (the endogenous GH-inhibiting hormone) at the hypothalamic level. This dual mechanism produces GH release amplitudes that exceed those of most other secretagogues.

Research also demonstrates that GHRP-6 stimulates appetite through ghrelin pathway activation, increases gastric motility, and has cardioprotective properties in ischemia-reperfusion models. These pleiotropic effects make GHRP-6 a versatile research tool beyond pure GH axis studies.
